If development comes back again could you add Paint Ball 2.
It's a quake 2 mod that's stand alone now.

I suppose, is it's not too different from the original Quake 2, some addons could be made for it...

(I don't have time to do that, though! Sad)

So i guess it WAS a mod.

which means that it's a standalone game now.

One of your links shows this about the game:
Gameplay modes include Elimination, CTF, 1-Flag CTF, Siege, Deathmatch, King of the Hill, and Pong.

So I would take it that the basic game would be Paintball 2 and each of the above would be handled like a mod of it much like Quake 2 and its CTF and so on.

This leaves us a bit of a dilemma which could also apply to Quake 3 since its source code has also been released.

Do we simply replace Quake 2 with Paintball 2....but we can't really do that because the files in our addons\Quake_2 folder
DataQ2.qrk
Q2Entities.qrk
Q2Textures.qrk and
UserData Quake 2.qrk

would all need to be created to conform to Paintball 2 even though much of it is very similar to Quake 2.

So that would only leave us with one choice that being treating it as a new game entirely.
The problem I see with that would apply to both Quake 2 and 3 every time someone makes up a new
stand alone take off we would need to do that same thing of setting up a whole new game in QuArK.

Unfortunately because we use a GameCodeList.txt to control certain aspects
of each individual game we only have about one or two for Quake 3 but we do have about twenty for Quake 2.
So how far do we want to go with this  Huh

What we would need would be a list of all of the game's textures, which we  can get from the game files themselves and a list of all the game's entities and their specifics and settings. That may not be so easy.

So how about a little feed back on that stuff.
We would of course, I guess, put the new game in the same Quake 2 or Quake 3 games menu list.

Very good. Your first link shows this about the entities:
Paintball2 supports the regular Quake2 deathmatch entities and keys.

So if we had an addon for QuArK for deathmatch we could use that to create one for Paintball 2.
We do have an addon for CTF which was made up by one of our forums members called X7
and he had a bunch of others as well from what I remember.

I will send him a PM and see if he has one for deathmatch or can give us more info.

Your welcome but I haven't heard from X7 yet, he may not be coming to this forum anymore.

I don't know if the CTF addon would have the same entities as deathmatch either, maybe someone else knows.
