When the forum was set-up, I on purpose didn't make such a section. Most of the people here are active on various community forums (clans, mapping forums, etc.), so adding such a section here would be useless. Also, there are a lot of forums where the 'offtopic' section is the most active one where all kinds of flame wars are being fought. I'm not interested in anything like that.

Of course, if more people want such a section, and they promise to play nice , I'm happy to add it!

What would be the added value for QuArK? I mean, yes, it'd make this forum more active, but I'm not convinced it'll be the kind of activity we need. Anything mapping/modeling/QuArK-related already has a place (if not, please let me know!), and in the interest of keeping everyone on-topic, I'd say let's not have a 'general chat' section; the entire rest-of-the-interwebz is for that!

Alternative idea: Maybe the QuArK Facebook page can be used for this...?

Don't worry, I know what you mean.  One of the reasons I love this forum is because it is totally focused on QuArK and nothing else, which makes it an effective tool for getting help and helping others.
On the subject of the facebook page... I've waited two weeks for a response from Paradox268 and haven't gotten anything.  What would you think of making a new improved page?  I would be
eager to manage the page, as it would be a way that I could realistically contribute to QuArK.

We have a group on facebook for quake players.  Its got a page where we can post stuff on a wall and got a thing where we can post pictures and related documents.  It also has a group chat that appears in the book like normal chat windows.  I would like to see a quark group like that. 

If we do make one, we should have a rule about posting stuff there.  Post Quark related stuff and not just some random youtube video like the sitings of the chupacabra or me dressed up as a masked wrestler singing duran duran.
