Well I`ve posted it in a bunch of other places, so I might as well post it here, no? Grin

Like my previous map Maximus Overdrive, it was built with QuArK. Some patches had to be adjusted in Radiant for technical reasons, but 99% of the work done was with the good ol` knife. I sent this in to the Quake Live developers, and I`m hoping to have it added to the official Quake Live map list. If I`m successful, it may be the first QuArK map to have made it in, which would be an achievement for both me and you guys. Cheesy

Here is a copy of my lengthy review from my blog:

Training Day was named after an Unreal Tournament 2003 map. The map is designed for Duel, although it is capable of supporting all other non-CTF gametypes as well, in small numbers. Gameplay provides plenty of variety, with water pools, teleporters, and narrow girders to keep all players on their toes.

Training Day started life as a Quake III map with several custom textures from Than`s industrial texture set, in conjunction with several stock textures, TA textures, and ThreeWave textures. Although the basic layout was there, the visuals were strikingly different, and much more bland / less detailed than it is today. There were also several things back in this version that did not make it into RC1, such as a large fan, and a long hallway connecting the woodplank blocked door to where the RG is.

Later versions of Training Day sported a classy QL texture set and various layout changes. The GA hallway and the quad / haste hallway were then added in Beta 3. RC1 touched upon more visual aspects, although columns were added and the 5+ health hallway was modified to reduce the line of sight.

Several people from Quake3World assisted me in the construction of this map, including TheMuffinMan, Anthem, Kaziganthe, and especially cityy, who is responsible for the majority of architectural changes, including the columns in the RA room and the two hallways added in Beta 3. Anthem helped assist in testing the very first version of the map online, thanks to Maverick, who put the map up on his testing servers, formerly used for the Summer 2010 Maverick Mapping Competition.

I updated the original link. Somehow the MediaFire links got broken even though I haven`t made any changes there. Now I have redirected it to DropBox. Let me know if you continue to have problems.
