i had an idea that people may find useful for the forum threads. an option to have a little notice next to the title of they're threads saying 'solved'/'unsolved' and a little bar to represent urgency of the situation when they have a question of problem. 1: being please answer one day and 10: being ANSWER OR I'LL DIE FROM SOME HORRIBLE DISEASE
what do you think. probably not so much the bar thing (up to you i guess) but the solved/unsolved thing could go down well.

Actually the 'solved'/'unsolved' is not a bad idea  Roll Eyes
But who sets that... Huh
Most times once someone gets the answer they need their off.... Cool  (mapping I guess)
and would most likely not make that final setting.  Tongue

Just giving some pros and cons.  Grin

lol your right. maybe there could be a rule that if they have the solved/unsolved, they've agreed to return to it at the end. i mean, they can always be sent an email when someone posts and answer.

or if you like, a mod can make a judgment of the situation if it remains unchecked for a month perhaps by indicating whether it is solved or unsolved, then bringing it to the attention of someone if it is important.

other than that, I'm a little short on ideas, sorry Tongue

Yep; moderators setting it after some time has gone by is the default thing to do.

I'd be glad to implement something like that, but I don't know SMF's internal code too well, so I'm not (currently) planning on doing it myself. I found two mods that do this: http://custom.simplemachines.org/mods/index.php?action=search;basic_search=solved

But one is for SMF 2.x, which we're not running (it's a beta version anyway), and the other one is old, and people are having random trouble with it, and the original author seems to have died disappeared. It contains a step where it changes something to the forum database, so I'm not to happy manually trying a feat like that.

It would be very nice to have that in the Troubleshooting section, but I don't see any (quick) way of doing it. Cry

Well, we should just wait for the 2.0 final release and then implement a plugin. I have a SMF forum as well, and I'm looking forward for this release.

Just what I was thinking. Smiley (They are about to release the Release Candidate 1 version, so a final release can't be too far away anymore.)
